Peninsula Private Hospital

BRD was engaged by Hutchinson Builders to complete a 3000m² car park on top of an existing structure. The project was broken up into many stages to work within a live car park environment as per the request of Ramsay Health. All in all, we managed to complete the band beam & BONDEK® structure whilst keeping the car park open with minimal disruptions to patients.

The new Geoff Handbury Science and Technology Hub at Melbourne Grammar School is a simple, singular sculptural structure. The construction of the new five-level Science and Technology Hub replaces the existing science building. The cutting edge design of this building facilitates scientific and technological investigations.

BRD Industries was engaged by Kane Construction to complete the full structure package. The project was interesting with its rounded floor plate shapes & BubbleDeck formwork system which provided some challenges during construction.

This was BRD’s 25^th project with Kane Construction – a testament to our clients entrusting us with repeat business.

Parliament House Office Accommodation

Parliament House Office Accommodation is a new freestanding, two-level office building with a roof garden which was constructed to the east of the existing heritage listed Parliament House.

BRD was engaged by Cockram Construction (now ICON) to build 102 new offices, a breakout area and amenities for the Members of Parliament. This was a special project for us as not only is it a prestigious project in the heart of Melbourne, it also involved the use of BubbleDeck Formwork which is a new formwork system which saves concrete through the use of proprietary air bubbles in the slab.

BRD’s scope of work involved the structural works to the footings, ground slab, suspended slabs and the installation of BubbleDeck.

The multi-deck car park will increase capacity across the hospital precinct. The new carpark which is affectionally known as Grey Street car park is a staff-only car park which will improve the availability of existing parking spaces to patients. The structure consisted of a Bondek on structural steel. BRD was engaged to supply and place concrete, reinforcement & lost metal formwork. It was a successful project and one we are thrilled to be a part of.

BRD was engaged by Hutchinson Builders to be the main structure contractor for Fishermans Bend Secondary School (FBBS). FBBS is funded through the 100 New Schools Victorian Government Initiative. It involves the construction of the state-of-the-art school building at 477 Graham Street, Port Melbourne in the Mirraway Precinct. FBBS is a science, technology, engineering, arts and maths (STEAM) focused school. The building has some fantastic amenities such as:

Robotics Workshop
200-seat lecture theatre
Gymnasium with competition grade basketball and netball facilities
Food technology area with commercial-grade kitchen and canteen
Performing arts amenities
Outdoor Terraces
Urban garden with recreational ball sports areas
